Some Information about 

the Volcan, Panama Area

The city of Volcan is located in Chiriqui Province in western Panama only a few miles from Costa Rica.

How do I get there from the U.S. or Elsewhere?

   Grab your passport and fly to Panama City, Panama. From Panama City you can take either Air Panama (my favorite) or Aero Perolas to David, just over an hour. Pick up a rental car in David and we are only 1 hour away up good paved roads. 

Where will I stay? 

    We have several Bed and Breakfasts in the area along with a resort hotel, the Bambito. We also have two hotels in town; one catering to families and the other with cheap, clean rooms for 1 or 2 people.  There are also cabins available.

Besides looking at the area as an ideal retirement location, what is there to do in the Volcan area? 

• Explore the huge nature park that spans the border with Costa Rica 
• Go bird watching. Panama has more bird species than anywhere else in North America 
• Go white water rafting, horseback riding, or take a guided tour of the scenic area
